Well, I Finally Moved

To a nudist colony!

Not back to North Carolina or very far away from where I was living, but socially its a giant improvement.

I’m still adjusting the new place and being able to walk around naked all the time, but its definitely a cool community of people.

The property is on 10 acres and everyone either lives in little cottages or in RV’s or trailers. We’re staying in a little cottage until the snowbirds come down and then we’ll move to another spot. Now I really want a VW camper van!

There’s something about communal life that I love. I’ve always wanted to live in a commune and one day when I have enough money to purchase my own land, thats exactly what I would like to do.

When I was in Australia, I WWOOFed at a couple of intentional eco-communities. One collected all of their water from rain and the other was completely off the grid and used solar power. They both used strawbale insulation as their main building technique and had huge organic gardens. I kept a blog/journal on myspace when I was over there about my adventures. Read some of my favorite entries here and Here

Anyways, I will post photos of the place soon and will be broadcasting on Flirt4Free alot more since I have a prettier place to do it from.

  1. Sounds like a wonderful place to be. Be well.

  2. A nudist colony near Fort Lauderdale? I know of two near Tampa, and one in the Ft. Pierce area.

  3. Sounds like you’ve really found a place to fit in. Is this place near where you lived before? I know of a couple up this way (west coast of Florida, north of Tampa) and I’ve heard mixed things about them.

It almost seems cliche, but I’ve long wanted to establish a sort of sustainable community of my own. I don’t want to be too extreme or dogmatic about any of it like some of the “fundamentalist hippies” who do this sort of thing. I’ve heard of some places where people will yell at you just for carrying a drink in a plastic bottle. I want a nice balance of organic/hydroponic farming, high-tech (solar/wind/etc. power, community wireless networks), open spaces, and good friends. I could happily live in an environment like that for the rest of my life, I think. Even the challenges would be meaningful, at least, which is more than most people can say about what they do day in and day out.

  4. A home is a woman’s castle. Good luck. Chin up.

  5. Ooh can’t wait to see the pics, I love the idea of people pooling resources, then using the economy of scale to be more successfully self sufficient and set up a living environment that suits them. I’ve never done this, but what I think is probably the most valuable is people coming together to support each other emotionally.

  6. When I was doing forrest defense on the west coast, we set up camps in the woods as bases of operation. They were essentially communal in the fact that we had to share space, resources and depend on each other for survival, safety and victory over the logging companies. It was so hot, that as people started to get to know each other and become more comfortable, we started stripping items of clothing. It wasn’t long before full nudity was the norm. I remember that summer as being on of the greatest I’ve ever had. Not only were we saving an old growth forrest, living in a tight knit communal way, living the personal is political lifestyle, but we all got to walk around naked. I can only imagine how in the zone you are right now.

  7. thats an awesome story T.C.

  8. This so interests me, I want to know more. It’s so out of my realm, but is so intriguing to me. Please share more.
