on going saga with polaroids…

Alrighty,

So as I’ve come to find out, the 40-series film will not work in the camera I have. However I purchased a J66 land camera over at ebay that comes with two packs of type 47 film, so when it arrives I’ll tell you how that goes.

But back to my original camera, the j33, the whole 120 film thing is kind of a bust because I ventured over to the Wolf Camera store and asked them about 120 film with 3000 asa and the guy looked bewildered and said that he hasn’t seen that film in over ten years. He said to try 620? Does anyone know if this will work?

I want to do something with this thing.  Its awesome and clunky and I bet it makes some cool images.

    Miss Seqouia:

You may have to write to Kodak or some other film comp-
any in order to see if they still manufacture the film stock
you are looking for. I would imagine that there must be
some photographers who still use it. You may also want
to check online for websites that specialize in filmstocks
not used by the general public. If I come across anything
I will email the info to you.

I’m not sure why you are looking for 3000 asa (low light or night photography?) but you can find a wide assortment of 120 or 220 in speeds that are more common (like 400, or 125 asa). You’ll have better luck in that range,

    Matt

There is a roll of Type 38 (Color) on ebay right now that would fit your cam. It expired in 1965–but *might* yield some sort of image if used in bright sunlight.

Ed, thanks for the lead, but 25$ is a high price to start at and I don’t have a color adapter for it.

I’m looking for 3000 speed because that is what the J33 uses.
