I received this comment on my blog today:

Just a heads up for you on the Tequesta Drum Circle. Guess word got out about your planned appearence. They probably won’t let you in if they recognize you. While you are certainly a beautiful woman and seeing you experience any number of things would certainly be plesurable. As I am part of the event and know the Park is already requiring additional support (read $$$) that may make future circles unfeasible. Also we may have met in passing at past drum circles or the study group which sponcers them, while I support your efforts to promote yourself I hope you will agree that the Drum Circle is not the approipiate venue for doing so

On this issue I’ll have to side with the Park as the event has grown in popularity, is open to the public and particuarly that there are children present. Hopefully you will reconcider filming and opt to simply enjoy sharing in the energy of the circle as any resulting publicity from you filming would only serve to hurt future events or possibly end it entirely.

I can’t believe I just received this message. I’ve been going to the Tequesta Drum Circles since the very first one that was held on a Winter Solstice, I believe. I started going to CUUPS Moonpath Chapter, which is the study group that sponsors this event, since I was fifteen years old. I met my boyfriend of four years at CUUPS. I’m not a fucking newbie to this scene.

I’m not going there to promote myself, I’m going there to dance my ass off, enjoy the awesome drumming and watch the bonfire. When I lived in Fort Lauderdale last year I used to hang out at Hugh Taylor for hours.

Kids? What the hell do you think I’m going there to do? Molest them?

You can’t violate my right to assembly. This is America, motherfucker.

Now I’m way going.

Does anyone have a cure for writer’s block? Seriously?

Today is a rainy day and I’m listening to the Be Good Tanyas because they make some good rainy day music.

My plan is to clean my room and then maybe broadcast a bit on Flirt4Free…maybe…the chatters on there are piss poor when it comes to conversation.

I just made an account on facebook at the beginning of the week under my legal/birth name. Its been crazy because I am finding people that I haven’t seen since middle school or high school and its even more crazy seeing where everyone is at in life. Some people are married, some people even have babies!

One cool thing in particular that has come out of it was messaging a guy I knew when I went to boarding school in Scotland. Fun times. Anyways, this particular guy I really liked and we developed a friendship right before I had to leave for the summer. I thought I was coming back, but things took a turn for the worse and my mom claimed she didn’t receive the child support, so I couldn’t go back. I was heartbroken to say the least, so I wrote this guy a letter and I kind of poured my heart out. I also wrote a poem about him, which I didn’t have the guts to send. I never received a response back and always wondered what happened. I thought that maybe I freaked him out or he never got it.

Now, all of these years later, I find him on facebook and it turns out he got the letter and sent me two letters back. This would have made all of the difference in the world when I was 16. As small of a thing as it might seem, that letter would have meant so much, then. And even though its been five years, its still a relief to know that he got it, I didn’t freak him out and he actually still has it.

So yeah…I hearts the internets…
